Precision Optical is an industry leader in precision prism and optical assembly manufacturing focusing on defense and the burgeoning fields of semi-conductor, aircraft, satellite, and bio-medical technology and manufacturing industries.
SOS began working on PrecisionOptical.com in March of 2012 with the goal of increasing brand awareness, driving targeted traffic and increasing leads through their website.
Solution:
Our initial assessment of the website began with an audit to identify issues with crawling, indexing, technical problems, on-page, backlinks, design/usability and analytics. We worked with the client on a website redesign with SEO and usability best practices in mind to help achieve and stay in line with the identified marketing goals. Based on our keyword research we selected target keywords based on competition, search volume, relevance and the client’s input. We mapped the target keywords to the most relevant pages on the site and if pages didn’t exist had new pages and content created.
Once the newly structured and designed site was finished, old URLs were mapped to equivalent new URLs and we built out 301 redirects, which tell the search engines that the old URL has permanently moved to another location. Additionally, based on the audit findings and keyword research, we made all general on-page updates created webmaster tool accounts, uploaded xml sitemaps and created a benchmark report to track progress based on our ongoing efforts.

Wet Okole manufactures custom fit waterproof nylon laminated neoprene seat covers. They changed their top level domain from a .net to a .com in 2007 and as a result saw a major drop in rankings, traffic and sales. SOS was contacted to help reverse the effect of the change.
Solution:
After auditing the site, old URLs were mapped to equivalent new URLs and we built out 301 redirects, which tell the search engines that the old URL has permanently moved to another location. Additionally, based on the audit findings, we made all general on-page updates, converted the layout from tables to CSS, created webmaster tool accounts and uploaded xml sitemaps. Within the first month, after assessing the problem and making the necessary updates to the website, SOS was able to bring the rankings back.
